Our Weapon Range
Rankin Field began in 1940, when aviation pioneer Tex Rankin opened a flight training academy that prepared Army Air Corps cadets during World War II. The Tulare County Deputy Sheriff's Association purchased the property in 1997 and reopened it as a weapons range in the fall of 1999.
Today we are Central California's premier public shooting range: a safe, welcoming place to practice and perfect your shooting skills, earn your concealed carry permit, and take part in classes, competitions, and special events.
